The Magpies

Ki Ora Bloggers ✋

Lately I have been working on a task about The Magpies. The Magpies is quite an old story based around these two people called Tom & Elizabeth and Magpies. Underneath this writing there is a table full of the original poem, then underneath that in the same table there is my summary about the poem. So if you want to go and check it out 😊

while the pines grew overhead

But all the beautiful crops soon went

Elizabeth is dead now (it’s long ago)

The farm’s still there. Mortgage corporations

Begin Summary here:

When Elizabeth and Tom took the farm, the shrubbery made their bed. Elizabeth’s lips were red and Tom’s hand was strong to the plough. Year in year out they both worked while the pines grew overhead. All the beautiful crops soon went to the mortgage man. Elizabeth is sadly dead now, and old Tom has gone light in the head. The farm is luckily still there as the Mortgage corporations couldn’t give it away.
